DARLINGTON have continued to raid Whitby Town ahead of next season as defender Jassem Sukar seals a permanent move to the club.

Sukar follows striker Jacob Hazel through the door after an impressive season which saw Whitby finish just outside the play-offs in the Northern Premier League Premier Division.

Sukar came through the academy ranks at Sunderland before going on to ply his trade in Scotland with Peterhead, Brechin City and Dundee United.

In 2017, he switched to York City when they were in League Two at the time and made seven appearances. Following their relegation from to the National League, Sukar made the switch to the Turnbull Ground where he has gone on to make 142 appearances and score two goals.
