EDDIE HOWE has made three changes to his Newcastle United starting side for this afternoon's Premier League game at Manchester City.

Jamaal Lascelles, Sean Longstaff and Chris Wood all return to the Magpies starting XI as they look to halt City's title charge.

Lascelles will partner Dan Burn at centre-half, with Fabian Schar only making the bench after injuring his foot against Liverpool.

Longstaff and Wood replace Jonjo Shelvey and Joe Willock, neither of whom feature in the matchday squad.

With Wood returning to spearhead the attack, Joelinton will return to an attacking-midfield role, flanked by Longstaff and Bruno Guimaraes.

Kieran Trippier and Callum Wilson return to the Newcastle squad for the first time in months, but the pair are both restricted to bench duty, having been named amongst the substitutes.
