The striker has made two Premier League appearances this season and has scored twice in five Europa League games for the club. He’s also scored 15 goals in 14 appearances across Premier League 2 and the Papa John’s Trophy for the Gunners Under-21’s side.
Boro have fought off competition for the signature of the highly rated youngster.
Balogun recently tested positive for Covid which has potentially delayed the announcement.
Manager Chris Wilder said: “We’re delighted to get Flo in. He’s a player I’ve known about for a long time and we identified him as someone who could come in and improve us in the second half of the season.
“He has great movement, good pace, and he’s a natural finisher. We’re looking forward to working with him.”
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has been keen to send Balogun on loan for the second half of the season. He becomes Boro’s third arrival of the transfer window following the signings of Aaron Connolly and Caolan Boyd-Munce.
