BORO
5 Lumley – An off day for Lumley. Missed a couple of catches and was let off the hook for their offside goal.
6 Peltier – A steady performance but perhaps failed to cope with the conditions all that well.
5 Bamba – Not his best day and played a few players into trouble with some bad passes.
5 Wood – A great first half was followed up by a second half where he was ran ragged. A learning curve for him.
6 Gibson – An energetic display. Ran out of steam in the second half and had to come off.
7 Kokolo – Looked impressive on the left and got up and down the line well. Unfortunate to come off injured.
6 McNair – Looked better when he moved into defence in the second half. Couldn’t play his incisive passes in midfield.
7 Howson – Brilliant energy and battled when he needed to. A player like him is vital in a game like that.
8 Boyd-Munce – Superb all round debut. Got his goal and looked technically good in the midfield. Unfortunate to run out of steam and be taken off.
7 Ikpeazu – A quality goal that will have sent a message to Boro staff with reports flying round about his future.
6 Coburn – Had to brave the elements for a lot of today and didn’t get many clear cut opportunities.
Subs:
7 Matt Crooks 57’ – Helped change the game for Boro and provided a bit of quality where it was needed.
6 Marcus Tavernier 57’ – Energetic and forward thinking when he came on but failed to influence the game.
6 Onel Hernandez 63’ – Helped turn the tide for Boro and provided an attacking outlet.
7 Isaiah Jones 78’ – His pace and agility was a big problem for Mansfield. Played a huge role in turning his man and crossing for the winner.
6 Anfernee Dijksteel 78’ – Steady away on the right hand side. Should have scored shortly after Mansfield equalised.
Subs not used: Daniels, Malley, Sykes
MANSFIELD: Bishop 7; Hewitt 6, O’Toole 6, Hawkins 7, McLaughlin 6 (Johnson 60’ 6); Maris 6, Stirk 7 (Law 73’ 6), Clarke 6 (Lapslie 60’), Quinn 7; Oates 8, Bowery 7
Subs not used: Stetch, Turner, Nartey, Burke, Law, Ward, Charsley, Lapslie, Johnson
Man of the Match: Rhys Oates – He should have scored more but he terrorised Boro in the second half and grabbed the equaliser. Unplayable on his day.
