WILL Goodwin has returned to Championship side Stoke City following the expiration of his loan deal at Hartlepool United.

The striker has been out of favour under current manager Graeme Lee and hadn’t started any of his five games in charge of the club.

The 19-year-old got off to a dream start for the League Two side scoring on his debut in a 3-2 defeat away to Barrow back in August.

However, Goodwin would only go on to score one more totalling just two goals in 15 appearances.

Goodwin heads back to his parent club alongside fellow forward Tyler Burey who goes back to Millwall. Pools had a bid to extend Burey’s loan until the end of the season turned down by The Lions with Gary Rowett’s side short on numbers due to the surge in Covid cases across the country.
