HARTLEPOOL UNITED have paid tribute to their former player, Marvin Morgan, who has died at the age of 38.

Manchester-born Morgan made five league appearances during a loan spell with Pools from Plymouth Arygle in 2015, scoring one goal.

A striker, Morgan played for a number of clubs in the lower leagues and non-leagues, and ended his career with Hornchurch in 2019.

A statement on Hartlepool's Twitter account said: "We are shocked and saddened to have learned this morning of the passing of Marvin Morgan at the age of just 38 years old.

"Our thoughts are with family and friends of Marvin. Rest easy, Marvin."

After retiring from playing, Morgan set up the fashion brand Fresh Ego Kid, which is popular with a number of Premier League players.

Romelu Lukaku, Raheem Sterling, Emile Smith Rowe and Dele Alli have all been seen wearing Fresh Ego Kid clothing, along with Anthony Joshua and Cruz Beckham.
