HARTLEPOOL United have shocked League One Wycombe Wanderers in an FA Cup reply beating them 1-0 at Adams Park this evening.
Mark Cullen’s fifth goal of the season in the first half was the deciding strike of the game as Pools go on to set up a second round tie against fellow League One side Lincoln City.
Antony Sweeney, who is still interim manager, fielded a strong side and took the lead on 20 minutes when Cullen finished smartly in the box. After a 2-2 draw at Victoria Park took the game to a reply, the win represents Sweeney’s best result in temporary charge of the side.
Pools will receive a £22,000 prize winning fee for reaching the second round of the competition and set up a tough tie against Lincoln City at Sincil Bank in the next round.
