HARTLEPOOL United goalkeeper Ben Killip is expected to be available this weekend for their trip to Leyton Orient in League Two.

Killip, 25, sat out Pools remarkable 3-2 comeback win over Harrogate Town at the weekend with a quad problem. Jonathan Mitchell took his place in goal at Victoria Park while Killip was on the bench after failing a late fitness test.

The problem was picked up in last weekend’s defeat to Salford City but it’s understood that the keeper should make a recovery in time for their next game and will be available.

Killip has been Pools number one goalkeeper this season and has kept four clean sheets as part of a run that’s seen Dave Challinor’s side climb into the play-off places.

Should Killip’s quad injury take a turn, Pools now have 19-year-old goalkeeper Patrick Boyes registered with the squad. The Grimsby Town scholar has been training with the club since the start of the season and has now been brought in as a third choice goalkeeper.
