AIDEN McGEADY returns to Sunderland's starting side for this evening's League One game at Crewe.
The Republic of Ireland international has shaken off the ankle problem that kept him out of Saturday's 2-1 win at Gillingham.
He replaces Elliot Embleton at Gresty Road, with his fellow midfielder starting a three-match suspension following his dismissal against the Gills.
That is the only change to Lee Johnson's starting XI, with Aiden O'Brien retaining his place in the starting side and Ross Stewart once again set to line up as the central striker.
SUNDERLAND (4-2-3-1): Hoffman; Winchester, Flanagan, Doyle, Cirkin; O'Nien, Neil; McGeady, Pritchard, O'Brien; Stewart.
Subs: Burge (gk), Dajaku, Younger, Wright, Hume, Wearne, Harris.
