BOTH Whitby Town and Marske United continued their strong starts to the season with midweek victories last night in the Northern Premier League.

Whitby secured a memorable 3-0 derby win over Jonathan Greening's Scarborough Athletic thanks largely to their first half performance at the Brewery Field. 

Former Boro striker Bradley Fewster, Liam Cooke and Marcus Giles got the goals at the Turnbull Ground. 

The win lifts Lee Bullock's side up to fifth in the table and back into the play-off places. 

As for Marske, they sealed a fifth home win in a row beating Brighouse Town 4-1 at Mount Pleasant. 

Craig Gott, Adam Wheatley, James Fairley and Glen Butterworth scored the goals for Carl Jarrett's side as they climb up to second in the East Division table. 

Marske have got a memorabke day to lok forward to in the FA Cup this weekend where they will take on National League North side Gateshead.

The tie was set up by a 4-1 replay victory away to Chester in the last round.
