BISHOP AUCKLAND have sacked manager Andy Toman in the wake of Saturday’s FA Vase defeat to Eccleshill United.

Toman leaves his post at Heritage Park with Bishops sitting in 17th position in the Northern League First Division table,  having won just two of their opening 11 league matches.

A statement on Bishop Auckland’s website said: “BAFC can confirm that Andy Toman has been relieved of his duties as team manager with immediate effect.

“The club would like to place on record its appreciation for Andy’s unceasing efforts and of course Ian McGuckin in their time with the club.

“The search for a successor will be undertaken as speedily and efficiently as possible and the club will make an announcement in due course.”
