SUNDERLAND boss Lee Johnson has made eight changes to his side for this evening's Carabao Cup third-round tie at Wigan.
Bailey Wright, Dennis Cirkin and Luke O'Nien are the only players to keep their places from the side that started Saturday's 2-2 draw at Fleetwood.
Lee Burge returns in goal, with Thorben Hoffman dropping to the bench, with Niall Huggins and Frederik Alves forming part of the back four.
Corry Evans will partner O'Nien at the base of midfield, with Alex Pritchard expected to play in a more attacking central-midfield position.
Leon Dajaku will make his Sunderland debut in a wide position, with Aiden O'Brien also expected to starton the flank in support of central striker Nathan Broadhead.
Wigan have not named either Max Power or Charlie Wyke in their matchday squad, but Jordan Jones, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Sunderland, is in the Latics' starting side.
