SUNDERLAND are in advanced talks with Bayern Munich over a double deal for winger Leon Dajaku and goalkeeper Ron-Thorben Hoffman.
The discussions have progressed rapidly over the last 24 hours, with Sunderland's recruitment team increasingly confident of being able to sign both players ahead of today's 11pm deadline.
Hoffman, a 22-year-old goalkeeper with extensive experience with Bayern Munich II, is set to extend his current contract with his Bundesliga employers before joining Sunderland on a season-long loan.
Dajaku, a 20-year-old winger, spent some of last season on loan at Union Berlin, but returned to Bayern after Union opted not to make his transfer permanent.
He is a Germany Under-20 international, and his signing would increase Lee Johnson's options in the wide positions.
His arrival would almost certainly trigger Jack Diamond's departure on a season-long loan, with Harrogate currently leading the chase for his services.
Diamond had a successful loan spell at Harrogate two seasons ago, helping the North Yorkshire club win promotion to the Football League.
