DARLINGTON'S weekend game at Brackley has been postponed because of the Covid outbreak at the club.

Quakers were forced to call off their planned season-opener against AFC Telford on Saturday after goalkeeper Tommy Taylor and winger Jarrett Rivers tested positive for coronavirus.

That took the total number of positive tests at the club to three following Luke Charman last week, and meant the entire Darlington squad were forced to self-isolate for ten days.

As a result, as reported in today's Northern Echo, this Saturday's planned away game at Brackley has also now been postponed.

Darlington's first game of the new National League North season is now due to be a home match against Alfreton on Saturday, August 28.

Alun Armstrong's side are then due to travel to Curzon Ashton for their first away game of the campaign on the following Bank Holiday Monday (August 30).
