DARLINGTON have completed the signing of Portuguese winger Kevin Dos Santos while striker Luke Charman has put pen-to-paper on a new contract.

21-year-old Dos Santos has signed from Northern Premier League side Tadcaster Albion and was recommended to the Quakers by Erico Sousa, who left Darlington to join Grimsby Town this summer.

Dos Santos becomes Alun Armstrong's ninth signing of the summer as the manager builds his squad for their sixth season in National League North.

Elsewhere, Charman has committed his future to the club.

The 23-year-old was signed last summer and was a big part of their cut-short campaign, playing a role in the club's famous FA Cup win over Swindon Town. He scored six goals in 14 appearances for the Quakers.

The striker has previously spent time with Newcastle United and Accrington Stanley.

Dos Santos told the club website: "Erico brought me here before the season finished and I did two sessions.

"The gaffer told me to come back in pre-season to see how I'd go in 11-a-side and obviously now I've signed.

"I can play both sides, left and right. I want to give a lot of goals and assists as well and hopefully a lot of joy to the club.

"My ambition is to go as far as we can. I want to give a lot of joy to the club."

Charman said: "I feel like I've finally got to a place where I'm a bit appreciated. I feel like the squad is going in the right direction.

"Obviously we've lost a lot of lads but the lads we've added have added good strength and I can see us doing quite well next year so it was a big factor.

"I think I did fairly well last year but I still think I've got a lot more to show. Hopefully we can get a better run of games going this year without any hiccups or interruptions so I reckon I've got a lot more to show.

"It was always a bit difficult, it was always going to be strange going into that season but hopefully things are back to normal and it stays that way so hopefully we can get a good run of games going into the season.

"I'm not really a big targets guy, I just like to play as well as I can every game, if I'm playing well than I'm sure goals will come and if I'm playing well then I'm sure it will help the team. That's all I'm focused on."

Darlington's National League North campaign begins at home against AFC Telford United on Saturday 14th August.
