MIDDLESBROUGH kicked off their three-game tour of Devon and Cornwall with a 2-1 win at Saltash United.

While trialist Jamie Paterson was not involved in this evening's game, the majority of Neil Warnock’s senior players got a run-out at the Kimberley Stadium.

Teenage winger Jeremy Sivi was named in a starting line-up that also featured summer signings Joe Lumley, Lee Peltier and Uche Ikpeazu.

Boro claimed a first-half lead as Paddy McNair, who played in midfield, converted a cross from Duncan Watmore.

Dave Parker equalised for Saltash from the penalty spot after Sam Morsy was adjudged to have handled in the box, and Warnock made a host of changes in the second half, bringing on the likes of Chuba Akpom, Connor Malley, Isaiah Jones, Djed Spence, Hayden Coulson, Nathan Wood and Lewis Wing.

Boro claimed a winner toward the end of the second half, with Wing turning and firing home after receiving the ball with his back to goal.

The Teessiders return to action on Wednesday evening when they line up against Tavistock.
