AUSTRALIAN defender Reagan Ogle has joined Hartlepool United on a permanent deal.

The 22-year-old moves to Victoria Park from League One side Accrington Stanley having been at the club since 2016.

Ogle has previously been on loan at Wealdstone, Southport, AFC Fylde and most recently at Altrincham.

He made 12 appearances for Altrincham after signing on loan in March earlier this year and came up against Pools during a 1-1 draw at Moss Lane.

Ogle admitted after the game that Hartlepool were the toughest side that he had faced last season.

He is the first new signing of the summer as manager Dave Challinor continues to assemble his squad for the new League Two season.

Challinor told the club website: "Delighted to get a deal agreed to bring Reagan to the club. He’s someone we’ve liked over the last couple of years and kept an eye on his progress.

"He’s had good loans over the last few years and finished the season with Altrincham in the division we played in.

"His adaptability in the fact he covers lots of positions defensively is a huge plus and I’m sure he’ll be a big success with us and we’re really looking forward to working with him."

Meanwhile, the club announced earlier today that Mark Shelton and Timi Odusina had signed contract extensions at the club keeping them until the end of next season.
