HARTLEPOOL United have received a welcome boost with the news that Mark Shelton and Timi Odusina will be staying at the club next season.

The pair have opted to extend their current deals at Victoria Park with the side preparing for their upcoming League Two campaign.

Shelton signed initially on loan until December 2019 until the end of the season before making his move from Salford City permanent last August.

Shelton has gone on to feature over 50 times under Dave Challinor.

He made 39 appearances in total last season and scored three goals whilst being a regular for Pools in the heart of the midfield.

Like Shelton, Odusina moved to the Vic intially on loan from Norwich City in January 2020 before making the permanent move last summer.

While Odusina found game time a bit more difficult throughout the season, he started in all three of Pools National League play-off games playing a starring role in the right of a back three in defence.

The pair follow in the footsteps of defender Gary Liddle and midfielder Nicky Featherstone in signing new deals at the club.
