Darlington's squad have returned to pre season training as they make preparations for their 2021/22 National League North season. 

The Quakers had a number of first team players back for their first session of the summer along with the club's new recruits as Alun Armstrong's squad continues to take shape over the summer. 

Six new signings have come through the door and they were part of the first session back including goalkeepers Tommy Taylor and Lucas Martin, defenders Kallum Griffiths, Joey Hope and Lexus Beeden and forward Junior Mondal.

The club have said they are in further discussions with several players as Armstrong looks to build a squad capable of promotion from the National League North. However, the Quakers were dealt a blow this week with the news that last season's top scorer Erico Sousa. 

The winger has rejected a move back to the Quakers and signed a one year deal with National League side Grimsby Town. 

The first pre season friendly of the summer for Darlington is against Newton Aycliffe on Tuesday 6th July followed by games against Tadcaster Albion, Northallerton, Newcastle United Under 23's, Harrogate Town, Middlesbrough, Sunderland and Whitby Town.
