Ashley Fletcher looks set to complete a move to Premier League Watford.
Fresh reports indicate the recently promoted Hornets have moved to sign the ex-Middlesbrough striker following the expiration of his contract in the summer and wil snap him up on a free transfer.
Fletcher was relieved of his playing duties with four games remaining in the season by Neil Warnock, along with Britt Assombalonga, once it was clear the pair weren't going to sign a new deal.
Boro had placed a contract offer to Fletcher's representatives earlier in the season before long term injury ruled him out of action.
The 25-year-old scored 19 league goals in 91 appearances on Teesside since signing in the summer of 2017 under Garry Monk.
Watford finished 2nd in the Championship last season as they sealed an immediate return to the Premier League.
