Spennymoor Town are continuing to build for the 2021/22 National League North season with a reshuffle among the coaching staff.

After naming Tommy Miller as permanent manager last month, former Middlesbrough full-back Stuart Parnaby will become their assistant manager.

Parnaby joined Moors as a coach in January 2020 after retiring as a player in 2015.

34-year-old midfielder Jason Kennedy joined the club on an initial loan in the same month and signed permanently later in the season. He will switch to a player/coach role for next season.

Manager Miller said: “I’m delighted with the team I have in place ahead of the new season.

“I’ve known Stuart for a long time through football and I am well aware of his character and his knowledge of the game.

“I was behind him coming to the club in the first place and I am sure he is going to step up to the mark and become a valuable Assistant to myself.

“Jason is entering the next stage of his career, and following a discussion I had with him last week, coaching alongside his playing commitments is something he would like to give a go.

“First and foremost, he is a player, but I am delighted he has agreed to the new role which will be hugely beneficial to both himself and the club."

Moors National League North season is due to begin on Saturday 14th August.
