Middlesbrough will take a team to play National League North side York City after their week long training camp in Cornwall.

Boro will take on the Minstermen on Tuesday 27th July for a 7pm kick off and will step onto the pitch at the LNER Stadium for the very first time.

York City have only managed to play one competitive game in their new 8,500 seater stadium, losing 3-1 to AFC Fylde in Febraury before the league season was declared null and void.

Boro's summer schedule is starting to take shape as they kick off pre season with a game against Northern League Bishop Auckland on Wednesday 14th July, which is the first game fans will be able to spectate Boro for nearly a year.

Neil Warnock's side will then head down to the South-East coast for a week-long training camp which includes three friendlies against Saltash United, Tavistock and Plymouth Argyle.

Warnock said: “I promised York I would take a team there.”

“It’s a club I used to play for, and importantly it’s another game that’s local for our supporters to be able to come and watch.

“It’s also a new ground for us all. I’ve not been, and it will be the first chance our supporters will have had to visit so it’s another game to look forward to.”
