Hartlepool United's promotion clash against Sutton United this weekend has moved dates in what is being billed as a huge game in the National League promotion race.

The game will now get underway on Sunday 23rd May for a 12:45pm kick off at Gander Green Lane with the match being broadcasted live on BT Sport.

This will surely go down as Pools most important game of the season with a top three position the main aim for Dave Challinor's side.

League leaders Sutton United have the chance to wrap up the title and seal promotion to the Football League if Torquay United fail to win their game against Barnet the day before.

Pools mathmetically sealed a play off spot over the weekend with a confident 3-1 win over Aldershot.

Luke Armstrong, Rhys Oates and Nicky Featherstone were on the scoresheet at the EBB Stadium as Pools ended a run of two consecutive defeats in the National League.

The victory moved them level on points with 3rd placed Stockport County after their 2-2 draw with Torquay United but sit below them in the table on goal difference.

With a 2nd placed finish out of sight for Pools, they'll be hoping that favours can be done for them when Stockport take on Woking on Saturday.

A top three finish in the National League would ensure one less game to be played in the play-offs.

Meanwhile, Bristol City's Ashton Gate was confirmed as the host venue for the National League play-off final.

The final is due to be played in Sunday 20th June for a 2pm kick off.

The quarter final round dates were confirmed for the 5th/6th June while the semi final dates will be played out the following weekend on the 12th/13th June.
