Newcastle United striker Callum Wilson says he's frustrated at missing out on the chance to play in front of fans before the end of the Premier League season.

The 29-year-old will be unavailable for the remaining three games of the campaign due to a hamstring injury.

Wilson has scored 12 league goals from 26 appearances including a brace in Newcastle's 4-2 win over Leicester City last time out.

Wilson posted on his Instagram page "Frustrating way to end my first season at @nufc having to miss the last two weeks through injury, especially with our first home game of the season with fans coming up.

"I will be back stronger & hungrier next season with hopefully a full St James Park as I'm looking forward to meeting you all."

Newcastle face recently crowned Premier League champions Manchester City on Friday evening, followed by games against Sheffield United and Fulham.

The Magpies will have a reduced capacity crowd for their home game against the Blades on Wednesday 19th May.
