NEIL WARNOCK will hold individual debriefs with every member of his Middlesbrough squad in the next three days, and has already decided who he wants to retain for next season.

Boro sign off for the season when they host Wycombe Wanderers this lunchtime, and once they have completed their final fixture, thoughts will immediately turn to the summer break.

Britt Assombalonga and Ashley Fletcher have already departed as free agents, while Jordan Archer, Marvin Johnson and Nathaniel Mendez-Laing are also due to reach the end of their respective contracts next month.

Marcus Bettinelli, Yannick Bolasie and Neeskens Kebano will complete their loan deals, and Warnock is ready for a busy round of discussions before he heads to Cornwall for the start of his own break.

“If I hadn’t decided things now, I’d be in trouble wouldn’t I,” said the Boro boss. “If I wasn’t sure, I’d be struggling. I know what I want, and I’ll be talking to them all next week. There’ll be one or two interesting conversations.

“I’ll be speaking to all the players on Sunday and Monday. Lads that travel away, I tend to speak to on the Sunday so they can get off home. Then I’ll be talking to the rest of the lads on Monday, possibly Tuesday morning.

“I always talk to everybody and tell them what I’m expecting next season, where they’ve done well and what they can do better at. I’ll be talking to everybody that’s on the books.”

Warnock will also attempt to make progress with his recruitment drive before heading to the South-West, with “two or three” attacking targets at the forefront of his thoughts.

“We’re looking for players to come into the side to score ten or 15 goals, so I’ve got to have things up my sleeve,” he said. “I’m not going to get the finished product, but there’s two or three players that excite me if I could get them. You get feelings about players as a manager, and I’ve got feelings about two or three. I’m hoping I can get the ones I’ve got these feelings about.”
