IAN Moore is looking forward to a Leeds United reunion at Victoria Park today.

Moore will be part of the Hartlepool United attack as they face his former club in front of a sell-out, all-ticket crowd.

The striker made 65 appearances for Leeds before signing for Pools in the summer. He has scored eight goals this season and that includes his 100th career goal, which arrived last weekend as Pools lost at Swindon.

He played at Elland Road this season when Pools were beaten 2- 0, despite an impressive display.

But impressive couldn't be used to describe the reverse at Swindon and Moore admitted: "It was a sloppy game, balls were going from back to front and now we have to look towards Leeds.

"It's an important game, not only for me and Robbie (Elliott) because we were released from there, but because of our inconsistency this season.

"It's a good game for all, a full house and one to look forward to.

There's still a few there who I played with so it makes things interesting.'' Leeds have surged to third place in League One, just one point off top spot, despite their 15- point deduction.

Their season has been built on a sprit fostered from adversity and a liking for scoring late, vital goals.

On Saturday they relied on a goal in the closing minutes to see off Bristol Rovers and Moore admitted: "I expected them to do well and be up there, but not perhaps as well as they have done.

"Once their support gets behind them and when they play the poorer teams at home, the visitors are going to get mauled.

"Look at our game there this season. It's another one which we shouldn't have lost. We played them off the park for long periods and came off with a defeat.

"I bet the gaffer is pulling his hair out from the amount of games we have thrown away from a good position.'' The inconsistent nature of Pools' season is holding them back in mid-table, but captain Ritchie Humphreys admits there can be no complaints about his side's position.

Danny Wilson's team lie in 14th spot, after a real mixed bag of results and performances.

They have won their last two home games, but lost their last six on the road against professional opposition - the only victory in that sequence came against non-league Gainsborough in the FA Cup.

"We have some games coming up against teams in the top few positions, but as far as we are concerned it's about doing the right things,'' said Humphreys, resored to the captain's role.

"We are in a fair position, but we are mid-table because we are inconsistent. We have played well at times, but not consistently enough. We were in front at Swindon, Yeovil and Gillingham and lost them all.

"That's the reason why we are mid-table. If we knew why things weren't going as well as they can we wouldn't be in the position we are, we would be much higher.

"Tthings crop up over a season - injuries, suspensions, lack of form - but we feel we have a squad who can do well.'' Leading scorer Richard Barker is pressing for a recall for today's noon kick-off, but Wilson's options are limited because of injuries keeping out Andy Monkhouse (knee), Jamie Mc- Cunnie (knee), Joel Porter (knee) and Ben Clark (hamstring).

Leeds are without captain Jonathan Douglas, who is likely to undergo knee surgery.
