How did the players fare in Sunderland's 2-2 draw with Hull?

HULL (4-2-3-1):

Ingram 6; Coyle 6, Jones 5, Greaves 7, Elder 6; Slater 5 (Smallwood 80), Docherty 6; WILKS 8, Honeyman 7 (Crowley 80), Lewis-Potter 6 (Whyte 80); Magennis 8.

Subs (not used): Long (gk), Burke, Eaves, Emmanuel.

SUNDERLAND (4-3-3):

7 Burge: Made fine saves from Lewis-Potter in the first half and Wilks in the second period

6 Power: Made an important sliding tackle in his own area in the second half, but wasn’t really able to get forward

5 Wright: Struggled to deal with Magennis’ aerial threat all evening and should have been tighter to the striker for both goals

6 O’Nien: His commitment cannot be faulted, but some of his limitations as a centre-half are starting to become apparent

4 McFadzean: Struggled badly against the dangerous Wilks for most of the night – his place in the side must be at risk

6 Scowen: Pushed himself forward to decent effect in the first half but wasn’t really a factor after the interval

6 Leadbitter: Performed an important mopping-up job in front of his defence and made no mistake when converting from the spot

6 Winchester: Started brightly and displayed some neat touches in the first half, but faded markedly after the interval

8 GOOCH: Set up Jones’ goal with an excellent cross from the right and was a lively, energetic presence all night

5 Wyke: Wasn’t really a goalscoring threat and was perhaps fortunate to escape with only a booking for a stray first-half elbow

7 Jones: Opened the scoring with an excellent first-time strike and was a threat when he was able to run at the Hull defence

Subs:

Diamond (for Winchester, 72)

O’Brien (for Leadbitter, 72)

Hume (for McFadzean, 76)

Maguire (for Jones, 81)

(not used): Patterson (gk), Younger, Stewart.

Man Of The Match: MALLIK WILKS – The Hull winger set up both of his side’s goals and was much too good for McFadzean to deal with.
