JAMAAL LASCELLES and Emil Krafth are both injury concerns ahead of Newcastle United’s home game with Burnley tomorrow night.

Allan Saint-Maximin trained without any problems yesterday and should be available to face the Clarets despite having missed Wednesday’s Carabao Cup win at Newport County.

Lascelles was also absent at Rodney Parade, and the Newcastle skipper is struggling with a hamstring problem that could limit his involvement tomorrow.

Krafth played against Newport, but the defender injured his hip and is also rated as doubtful for tomorrow night.

If both players were to miss out, Bruce might have to hand Fabian Schar his first start since July’s defeat with Tottenham, with the Swiss international having returned from a long-term shoulder problem as he came off the bench two days ago.

Bruce said: “Allan looks as if he could be fit. He’s trained all week. We decided not to risk him against Newport, but we hope he’s well and has got over his ankle injury.

“However, Jamaal and Emil Krafth are a bit of a problem. We’ll see how they are today. They are my concerns.

“Fab Schar is okay, he played for half-an-hour and is ahead of schedule, but defensively we’re still a bit light with (Paul) Dummett and (Ciaran) Clark out, and Jamaal and Krafth now thrown into the mix too.”
