How did the players fare in Middlesbrough's 1-1 draw with Bournemouth?

MIDDLESBROUGH (3-5-2):

7 Bettinelli: Made two crucial late saves as he kept out Solanke’s low shot and Lerma’s powerful close-range header

6 Dijksteel: Continues to look at home as a centre-half and made some important challenges against Solanke

6 Hall: Turned in a composed defensive display, but couldn’t find the target with a couple of half-chances at the other end

8 McNAIR: Adds some polish and poise to Boro’s back three and delivered a sensational cross for Browne’s equaliser

6 Spence: Displayed his usual pace and energy down the right-hand side, but wasn’t really able to deliver a telling cross

7 Saville: Produced an industrious midfield display, although his second-half effort was rightly chalked off for offside

7 Howson: Ensured Boro were the dominant side in the central third and successfully kept Lerma and Gosling under wraps

6 Tavernier: Delivered some useful set-pieces into the area and covered a lot of ground in the central third

6 Johnson: Got up and down the left-hand side effectively, although some of his crossing wasn’t quite as he would have wanted

5 Fletcher: Struggled to create any goalscoring positions – and was forced off midway through the second half after suffering a knock

6 Assombalonga: Kept the Bournemouth defenders on their toes throughout and threatened with a couple of headers

Subs:

6 Browne (for Fletcher, 68): Made a difference in the closing stages and produced an excellent headed finish to claim his first Boro goal

Fry (for Spence, 86)

Morsy (for Tavernier, 90)

(not used): Pears (gk), Bola, Wing, Coulson.

BOURNEMOUTH (3-4-3):

Begovic 7; Mepham 6, S COOK 7, Kelly 6; Stacey 6 (Rico 73), Lerma 6, Gosling 5, Smith 5; Brooks 6 (Surridge 83), Solanke 6, Danjuma 6 (Billing 73).

Man Of The Match: PADDY McNAIR – The Northern Irishman was the best player on the pitch while playing in defence, and got even better when he stepped into midfield late on.
