KIEFFER MOORE is set to choose Cardiff City ahead of Middlesbrough – and is poised to undergo a medical with the Welsh club later today.

Moore is understood to have agreed personal terms with Bluebirds, bringing an end to a long-running battle that has seen a host of Championship clubs attempt to secure his services.

Boro were one of a number of clubs to agree a fee of around £1.8m with the administrators at Wigan Athletic, and the Wales international has held discussions with Neil Warnock over the course of the last week.

However, the striker’s wage demands were an issue in his talks with all of his potential suitors, with Stoke City formally withdrawing their interest earlier this week when they were unable to agree terms.

Boro maintained a dialogue with the Wales international’s representatives, but Cardiff were always regarded as the favourites to secure his signature and it appears as though Moore has opted to move to South Wales.

He is due to complete a medical later today, and provided there are no complications, his transfer to the Cardiff City Stadium will be confirmed tomorrow.

Warnock will switch his attention elsewhere, having identified a number of potential attacking targets earlier in the summer.
