STEVE BRUCE is hoping to have Jamaal Lascelles, Miguel Almiron and Allan Saint-Maximin in his Newcastle United squad for tomorrow’s game at Watford.
All three players have been nursing knocks in the last week, but the trio are all set to take part in a full training session before the Magpies squad heads south later today.
Almiron was an unused substitute in Wednesday’s 5-0 thrashing at Manchester City, with Lascelles and Saint-Maximin both absent from the squad, but their conditions have improved in the last couple of days.
Bruce said: “We’ll know a little bit more this afternoon when we train, but I hope Almiron, Saint-Maximin and the skipper (Lascelles) will be okay.
“We’ll see how they are after training. That will give us a hand. Unfortunately, the other night, and I’m not trying to make excuses because we were badly beaten, but we had too many of our big players not available. It turned into one of those awful nights for us.”
