SPENNYMOOR Town have tied seven players down to new contracts.

After a sixth-placed finish in the recently curtailed season, which would have been enough for another play-off spot in normal circumstances, boss Jason Ainsley has quickly turned his attentions to planning for a new campaign.

New deals have been agreed with Robert Ramshaw, Carl Magnay, Mark Anderson, James Curtis, Jamie Chandler, Nathan Buddle and Ben Mckenna.

Glen Taylor and Ryan Hall are under contract until May 2021.

Ainsley said: “We’ve got a great group of lads at this football club and a special atmosphere in the changing room.

“The players signing new contracts so quickly shows how enjoyable the environment is for a footballer to be here.

“Whenever the new season starts, we have individuals who possess the quality, the commitment and the application to achieve something already within this group of players. We will be ready and I can’t wait to see what we can accomplish.

“There is a lot more work to be done on the squad over the coming days and weeks to build a team that will thrill the supporters and deliver an enjoyable and competitive season.”
