The photo of Durham winning the English Estates Trophy is from 1985. They enjoyed a 100-run victory at Cambridge, with Dorset bowled out for 129 in 47.2 overs.

Captain Neil Riddell said at the time: “Having been put in by Dorset we had the worst of the wicket, but after reaching 229 we felt it was just enough for victory.’’

And so it proved, thanks to some fine bowling by Durham’s six-pronged attack and Riddell described it as “straight, accurate bowling”.

The 11 on duty were: Lister, Russell, Scott (Darlington), Atkinson (North Durham), Greensword (Eppleton), Patel (Hetton Lyons), Jackson (Annfield Plain), Mercer (Durham City), Johnson (Ushaw Moor), Wilkinson (Shotley Bridge) and Johnston (Bishop Auckland).
