NORTH-EAST football clubs are donating equipment to the NHS to help the system in the battle against coronavirus.
While all sporting activity is on hold, Durham County FA were asked by Sunderland City Council, following a request from Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust and South Tyneside District Hospital, for help regarding defibrillators.
Durham FA officials contacted all their member clubs for their assistance and company secretary John Topping said: “The response has been absolutely fantastic with clubs and teams offering their defibrillator and some even suggesting they would buy one if still required.
“This response shows that all, everyone within grassroots football and also local companies are fully supportive of the fight against this awful virus and will do what they can to help”.
