THE FA is set to announce that the Northern League season is now over.

While sport is on hold because of the coronavirus outbreak and the nation placed under lockdown, the outcome of the football season remains up for debate at all levels.

However, it is understood that the FA have decided that step 5 and 6 in the pyramid will have their seasons curtailed.

A decision has yet to be made on promotion and relegation places, or if the season is declared null and void.

Stockton Town currently top the first division, some 14 points ahead of Shildon. West Allotment Celtic are leading the second division, ahead of Redcar Athletic.
