FORMER Premier League referee Dermot Gallagher is heading to Hartlepool later this month.

Tickets are still available for a charity evening on Saturday, March 21, with funds going to the Hartlepool United Community Sports Foundation and Pools Youth Under-6s.

Gallagher was referee when Pools beat Crystal Palace in the third round of the FA Cup in January 1993, awarding a controversial penalty for the club which meant Palace were the first Premier League team to be knocked out of the competition.

There is also entertainment from comedian Lea Roberts, at the event hosted by another former top-flight official, Teesside’s Jeff Winter.

Tickets are available for £20, which includes pie and peas – or a table of 10 is £175.
