PETER Kioso is on his way out of Hartlepool United. The right-back is set to sign for Luton Town, for a fee in the region of £100,000.

The Championship club have made their move after watching him score in last weekend’s 2-2 draw at Yeovil and have long kept tabs on the athletic 20-year-old, who moved to Pools from nearby Dunstable.

Kioso signed for Pools in the summer of 2018, after being recommended to then boss Matthew Bates and impressing on trial. He has been a regular since, becoming a crowd favourite at Victoria Park while making 70 appearances. He is one of a number of players out of contract this summer.

Kioso netted Pools’ first goal at Huish Park last weekend.

Pools last week sold striker Nicke Kabamba to Kilmarnock for a nominal fee and boss Dave Challior will hope to be able to spend some of the transfer fees to make his own stamp on the squad.
