MIDDLESBROUGH (3-4-2-1):

6 Pears: Unlucky to see Knight’s delivery beat him after the restart before the stunning leveller;

6 Howson: Another strong and convincing display from the makeshift defender who looks set for a long run at the back

7 McNair: Was excellent defensively and struck his penalty perfectly to put Boro back in front

6 Fry: Looked comfortable alongside McNair and linked well with Coulson too;

7 Spence: Is a breath of fresh air down that right-hand side and loves to join in attacks

7 Wing: Took his goal brilliantly and could easily have added to his tally after that too

6 Saville: Put the work in both directions without ever feeling like he was at the top of his game

7 Coulson: Provided that extra option down the left whenever he could and that created problems for Derby;

7 Tavernier: Knitted things together from start to finish and did his best to open things up

8 ROBERTS: The fans are already singing his name and unsurprisingly after his run won the penalty;

6 Fletcher: Led the line well once again, it was just a shame he couldn’t add to his scoring tally this time.

Subs:

Nmecha (for Roberts 80)

Gestede (for Fletcher 90)

MAN OF THE MATCH: Patrick Roberts – if this is his quality after a couple of starts, Boro fans are in for a treat when he is in full flow.
