NEWCASTLE United will have a home date with Hartlepool United’s third round conquerors Oxford in the FA Cup fourth round if they can progress next week.

Middlesbrough’s reward will be a long trip to another Premier League opponent in Southampton if they can reach that stage.

Middlesbrough and Newcastle both still have to negotiate replays first, varying in difficulty.

Newcastle will face League One’s Rochdale in their replay next week at St James’ Park.

And Boro, of the Championship, will have to stun Premier League side Tottenham in London.

If Newcastle can overcome Dale then they will face Oxford like they did in 2017 when Rafa Benitez’s side lost at the Kassam Stadium.

Steve Bruce is looking to guide his team into the fifth round of the competition for the first time under Mike Ashley’s ownership.

Middlesbrough drew 1-1 with Jose Mourinho’s Spurs on Sunday and are expected to take thousands of fans for the replay next week.

Hull v Chelsea;

Southampton v Middlesbrough/Tottenham;
