NEWCASTLE UNITED (3-5-2):
7 DUBRAVKA: Made three second half saves to keep Newcastle ahead before Rathbone eventually levelled things up;
5 Krafth: Asked to slot into the back three and did what he could to help prevent more danger down his side
6 Fernandez: Needed to be the main man at the back and was until the second half when he faded
5 Hayden: Started the game well enough in the back three but found it much harder after the restart;
4 Yedlin: Looked like he was carrying a knock at many times and unable to make the impact he needed to
5 M Longstaff: Had a first half chance but not able to influence things in the middle like was expected of him
6 S Longstaff: Got through plenty of running and had the occasional effort
7 Almiron: Took his goal brilliantly and was always looking to be on the ball and make things happen
6 Atsu: By far Newcastle’s most dangerous man in the first half an hour but he faded as the game wore on
5 Muto: Had his moments without ever being hugely influential and had one effort that went close
3 Joelinton: Had a couple of efforts but never looked comfortable in front of goal and his confidence drained away out of the box too
Subs
Ki (for Muto 53): Tried a few things but nothing special. 5
Ritchie (for Almiron 63): A run out to build his fitness. 5
