A NUMBER of Newcastle United’s Premier League matches have been rescheduled as a result of the latest raft of selections for live television coverage.
The Magpies’ trip to Sheffield United has been pushed back 24 hours to Thursday, December 5 (7.30pm). Like the rest of the top-flight matches taking place that midweek, the game will be screened live on Amazon.
As a result of that change, the following weekend’s home match with Southampton will now take place on Sunday, December 8 (2pm). It will not, however, be televised live.
Newcastle’s Boxing Day trip to Manchester United remains in its December 26 slot, but kick-off at Old Trafford has been moved to 5.30pm, with Amazon once again screening the action.
The New Year’s Day home game with Leicester City remains in its January 1 slot, with a 3pm kick-off, and will be shown live on BT Sport.
The home game with Chelsea, the reverse of this weekend’s fixture at Stamford Bridge, takes place on Saturday, January 18, with a 5.30pm kick-off to accommodate coverage on Sky Sports.
Finally, the trip to Everton’s Goodison Park on Tuesday, January 21 will not be screened live, but the kick-off time has still been brought forward to 7.30pm.
