7 Dobson: Worked hard and offered that bit of composure on the ball in the middle of the park

6 Leadbitter: Solid afternoon in the engine room for the Black Cats skipper

7 McGeady: Flashes of real quality, including his goal, were too good for his opponents

7 Maguire: Unselfish play for McNulty’s goal and took a few blows from Accrington’s big defenders

6 McNulty: Scored one and maybe could have had another with sharper finishing

McGeouch (for Leadbitter 75)

Grigg (for Maguire 77)

Embleton (for McNulty 82)
