Sunderland’s appeal against the three-match ban handed to Luke O'Nien following his sending off at Peterborough United has been successful.
O'Nien was shown a straight red card by referee Craig Hicks following a tussle with Posh striker Ivan Toney at London Road.
Television replays showed O'Nien grabbing Toney around the chest, but there did not seem to be too much in it in terms of violent behaviour.
O’Nien will now be available to face Accrington, Rotherham and Bolton.
