JACK ROSS has made eight changes to his starting line-up for Sunderland's Carabao Cup second-round game at Burnley.

Denver Hume, Luke O'Nien and Lynden Gooch are the only players to retain their places from the team that started last weekend's 3-1 win over AFC Wimbledon.

Lee Burge replaces Jon McLaughlin in goal, while Conor McLaughlin returns to a back four that also features Tom Flanagan, who will skipper the side, and Jack Baldwin.

O'Nien and Gooch are expected to fill the wide midfield positions, with Dylan McGeouch and George Dobson playing between them.

Elliot Embleton will play in an attacking midfield role, with Will Grigg getting the nod as a lone centre-forward.

Burnley boss Sean Dyche has made ten changes to his starting line-up, but the Clarets are still fielding a side packed with Premier League experience.
