CRAIG HIGNETT has received some frustrating injury news - with Luke Williams and Luke Molyneux both facing further time on the sidelines.

Neither of the flair players has made any impact this season, with Williams limited to ten minutes as a late substitute in defeat at Halifax and Molyneux yet to figure.

Both have now suffered setbacks on their comebacks.

Molyneux suffered an ankle injury in pre-season and was expected back in the next couple of weeks, while Williams last week bent his knee and suffered further damage.

Speaking at his press conference this afternoon ahead of tomorrow's game at Chorley, Hignett revealed: "We’ve had some back training – Josh Hawkes and Nicke Kabamaba and we will assed them before we travel.

“The two Lukes have both had scans because they aren’t progressing how we would have liked.

“They will see a specialist early in the week and we have to wait for that outcome. It’s frustrating and disappointing for both.

“Having those two fit would make a big difference in the division.

“We all know what Luke Molyneux has because he was excellent on loan – he is something different with pace and the ability to get past defenders.

“It’s a blow as we didn’t envisage him missing anything. Luke Williams was different as we knew we would have to be patient with him.

“But none of the injuries will keep them out for too long, but need looking at. There’s no timescale, we just wait for the specialist.’’
