GOALKEEPER Zach Hemming has moved to Hartlepool United on loan from Middlesbrough.

The 19-year-old played four times for Darlington last season and moves to Pools amid an uneasy start to life at Victoria Park for Ben Killip.

Pools have shipped ten goals in five games this season, with Killip yet to settle since moving from Braintree during the close season.

Boss Craig Hignett admitted after Saturday’s defeat to Bromley – after Killip was suspect in the third goal conceded – that his Number One was finding it hard to play in front of bigger crowds at Pools.

Hignett has been looking at his options this week and a possible move for Jonathan Mitchell, the Hartlepool-born Derby County keeper, was under consideration.

Pools two junior keepers, Ryan Catterick and Brad Young, are on loan at Guisborough and Billingham Town respectively.

Hignett, however, is not a fan of naming a goalkeeper on the bench, preferring to have more outfield options among his five named replacements.

Hemming will be in the squad for Saturday’s game at Chorley, where he could be handed an instant debut.

He will stay with Pools until December 31.
