CHARLIE WYKE will make his first start of the season as Sunderland take on Rochdale at Spotland this evening.
Wyke replaces the injured Marc McNulty in the only change from the Black Cats side that started Saturday's 2-1 win over Portsmouth.
The Teesside-born striker gets the nod over Will Grigg, who is on the substitutes' bench, having scored at Spotland last season.
Jack Ross retains the same back four that started against Pompey, with Alim Ozturk once again partnering Jordan Willis at centre-half.
Grant Leadbitter retains his place at the heart of midfield, having made his first league start of the campaign four days ago.
