MIDDLESBROUGH will kick off the new Championship season with a televised Friday night game at newly-promoted Luton Town.

The Jonathan Woodgate era will begin with a trip to Kenilworth Road on Friday, August 2, with the match due to be televised live on Sky Sports.

Boro’s first home game of the new campaign will see Brentford visit the Riverside Stadium on August 10, with the Teessiders rounding off August with matches against Blackburn, Wigan, Millwall and Bristol City.

October looks like being a tricky month, with matches against West Brom, Huddersfield and Fulham all taking place in the space of a week, and Boro will end November with a trip to Elland Road to face Leeds United on November 30.

Boro are at home on Boxing Day, with Huddersfield Town heading to Teesside, and head to the Hawthorns to take on West Brom in their final game of 2019 on December 29.

2020 begins with a trip to Preston on New Year’s Day, and Boro’s first home game of the new year will see them host Derby on January 11.

The home game with Leeds is scheduled for Wednesday, February 26, and Boro’s final home game of the season will see them host Cardiff City on April 25.

The campaign ends on Saturday, May 2 with a lunch-time kick-off against Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough.
