Birmingham-born Burrell joined Grimsby’s youth set-up from his hometown club, and was the Mariners’ top scorer at Under-18 level in the 2017-18 season.
He stepped up to the reserves set-up this season, and made his senior League Two debut as a substitute in April’s 2-0 defeat to Stevenage.
He finished the season with four League Two appearances to his name, having signed his first professional contract at Blundell Park.
