THE dates of the Championship play-offs have been finalised, with Middlesbrough hoping to set up a two-legged semi-final against either Leeds United or West Brom when they play their final game of the conventional season at Rotherham United on Sunday.

Boro head into the final weekend as one of three teams that could finish in sixth position, with Derby County and Bristol City battling against them for the final play-off spot.

Derby currently hold a point advantage over the Teessiders, with Bristol City a further point behind in eighth place.

If Boro are to make the play-offs, they can only finish in sixth position, so the first leg of their semi-final would see them host either Leeds or West Brom (the two teams that could finish in third) at the Riverside on Saturday, May 11 (5.15pm).

The second leg would take place at either Elland Road or the Hawthorns on Wednesday, May 15, with the game kicking off at either 7.45pm or 8pm depending on the opposition.
